Hi i have never been married & dont plan on anytime soon..
But i was just wondering that if a wife cheats on her husband & they no children & she files for divorce to be with another guy is she entitled to spousal support?

I think legally if you are married for the right amount of time they are ….unless you had a prenup agreement stating infidelity entitles them to nothing. I do think that she shouldn’t get it!!!!!

Where I live a woman could get spousal support for up to 3 years but if she lived with another man she would be considered as married after one year and the support would end.

Yes. Will need to fight for the law to change before you married. If you have an idea to divorce don’t let her pregnant you need to pay for children also.

Yep, she could bang the entire starting line up of the Dallas Cowboys on the living room rug and take 1/2 or more of all you have and Still Get Alimony !

The Feminists pushed hard to get the " No Fault Divorce " which means who or what caused the divorce has no bearing on her getting your stuff.

Before no fault divorce, the party found to be most at " fault " suffered the greater loss and the party more innocent suffered the least.

    No longer.

In most states, infidelity has no bearing on custody, or support.

It depends how good her lawyer is. Are there pictures of her cheating to show the judge? If not, forget about mentioning it – her word against yours.

It actually depends on the state. I’m currently going thru a divorce here in Az which is considered a "No Fault State" (or 50/50). Basically that means it wouldn’t matter if either spouse cheated on the other numerous times or whatever. What happens is the court looks at what each spouse brings into the decaying marriage income wise and decides if both can eek out an existence on their own sole income. If one persons income is so much more than the others chances are very good that "spousal maintenance" will be granted to the one with the small income.

Entitled? No, but the courts no longer take infidelity into consideration when it comes to handling the termination of marriage. All to often they look at the length of the marriage and the size of his wallet. "Hey, this guy has a job, let’s make him pay to support his cheating wife and her boyfriend for the rest of forever."

It depends on the length of the marriage and the laws of your state.
