Why care about marriage laws when divorce laws are in direct violation of God’s laws?

In the USA, the divorce laws are in direct violation of God’s laws, as described in the old and new testament. Yes, USA Christians don’t say anything.

So why should we insist our marriage laws follow God’s laws…?

1 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.

2 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"

3 "What did Moses command you?" he replied.

4 They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away."

5 "It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied. 6 "But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ [a] 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, [b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’ [c] So they are no longer two, but one. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."

Because there’s no outstanding bigotry against divorced people. It’s only when it comes to gays that bigots have an irrational hatred they need to make pathetic excuses for. Racism’s out of fashion now y’see.

Amber C: Except by biblical rules, divorce isn’t allowed EVEN in those circumstances. So if you’re simply basing it on scripture you’re clearly a hypocrite.

There is not anything wrong with divorce if there is abuse in the relationship. There is no reason for gay marriage, but there is a reason for divorce.

in addition to your question above:

why do Americans name god when they are doing something unlawful, immoral or something they just don’t want to take responsibility for? Despite having a great slogan "in god we trust" yet there are increasing numbers of non believers?

Your question is like asking why should we care about heroin use when so many people smoke marijuana. Just because people don’t obey one of God’s laws is no reason to throw them all out. Individual churches are supposed to look after their own members when it comes to the issue of what Biblical grounds for divorce are. There haven’t been too many initiatives of late regarding "no fault" divorce for Christians to speak up about in any case.

God’s law allows divorce in ceratain circumstances in the USA, For instance, if the unbliever leaves left them go, a brother or a sister is not in bondage anymore, Bondage to what, their marriage vows, & if some one commits adultry is another reason, So don’t say there is no reason in the USA when you don’t even know what the bible says, But there is no law in the bible rather in the USA or any other country, that says it is OK to live together without marriage.

Where do you go to church? USA Christians don’t say anything? Maybe you meant that some USA Christians don’t say anything. I am a member of a 3 thousand member church and we have heard often from the pulpit what the Bible says about God’s laws of marriage and divorce.

If you violate God’s laws, you can repent and ask forgiveness. If you violate mans laws, you can either pay a fine or go to jail. WE have never insisted that our marriage laws follow God’s laws, and that is the problem.

even non-Christian people do not accept gay marriages (there own ideals and belief toward marriage) did you not see the election in California? the people reject the motion–accepting same-sex marriage and those that got married before the election, well now their "marriage" will be assessed; give them union rights (oh yea they do have them but they insist on the word marriage to describe their union; gays feel that if they are accepted as a marriage they can have the same rights as a married couple; interesting they have all the same benefits) but is seems the gay agenda (if there is one) seek to contaminate the word–marriage–a union between a man and woman.

Boy, are you in error. The old covenant allowed a man to divorce his wife for just about any reason, and even Jesus comments on this in Matthew chapter 19.

The problem is not law; the problem is the human heart of stone.
